It Ain't a Bird or Plane, Either

Hey

My name's Gary ("Hi, Gary!"). Uh, yeah, hi. I guess I'm here to talk about my secret identity. Hmm? Oh, we all have secret identities. We're all superheroes. No, we're not all Superman. Or even Underdog. My secret identity is Easily Discouraged Man. I always spell it out rather than use the initials EDM because then it looks like I'm Erectile Dysfuntion Man. And trust me, that guy would be pissed if I stole his moniker.

So why Easily Discouraged Man? Well, because I'm, you know, easily discouraged. I have a wacky creative mind that dips my brain into many paint buckets (not really sure where I'm going with this metaphor) but after I finish a painting I usually lose interest in it because I figure either no one's going to care about what I make or it gets rejected a couple of times and so, really, what's the point? So I abandon that, uh, painting (I'm sticking with this metaphor if it kills me) and move on to the next. There's always something next. That's the ADD at work. Bright shiny objects distract me. Okay, pretty much any object distracts me. Such is life.

So now I'm writing about those distractions. But you better read everything quickly because you never know when I'll, you know, give up on this blog.
